The Refuge is home to a growing number of integrative health and healing professionals who share the vision of providing, safe, trauma-sensitive and client-centered care, and have committed themselves to embodying our philosophies and principles. Our commitment is to supporting your growth, healing and wellness on all levels – body, mind, emotions, spirit, relationships and career.
Associate practitioners at The Refuge operate independently but in a collaborative team environment, offering shared care for clients who are seeking to access multiple services from more than one practitioner.
Our practitioners have completed master’s degrees, are regulated health professionals actively registered with a College, and have completed extensive post-graduate training to focus in the field of trauma, attachment and complex relationship, mental health and addictions issues. Our practitioners have also dedicated themselves to healing from their own personal traumas and losses and have navigated spiritual crises. Each of our practitioners is also committed to completing continuing education on an annual basis.
Services at The Refuge are often covered under extended health benefits. This can include any of the following:
- Registered Psychotherapists
- Master’s level therapists or counsellors
- Clinical counsellors
- Health spending accounts
We also work with clients who have coverage through Victim Services or the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board.
