The Refuge has been built with dedication and care by Sarah Schlote (MA, RP, CCC, SEP) over the last 9 years. In that time, The Refuge and its practitioners have earned a reputation for providing skillful trauma therapy that is compassionate and effective. Now the time has come for a new chapter! Sarah has retired from private practice to pursue other opportunities and is passing The Refuge torch on to Kari Kokko (MSW, RSW, SEP). Kari has worked with Sarah at The Refuge for the past 4 years, and is honoured to usher The Refuge into a new phase in its evolution. As of January 1, 2021, The Refuge will re-present itself as a collaborative network of trauma therapists. Five skilled and experienced therapists are coming together to form this network. They bring a wealth of experience in numerous therapy modalities and practice experience in a variety of community and clinical settings. The therapists joining Kari in forming this network are Asher Dreise (RP), Kaitlin Lindquist (MSW, RSW), Lori Butler (MSW, RSW), and Michelle Hazlett (MSW, RSW). Check back to our website (www.healingrefuge.com) in the new year for updates on The Refuge and each of our practitioners!
